Allegra Lategan has survived against all odds after being born prematurely at 22 weeks and four days.
This week her parents, Hennie and Chantal Lategan from Cape Town, showed off their little angel to the world.
The baby spent her first three days wrapped in a plastic bag to protect her skin. A special incubator was flown to the city afterwards, where she has lived in a womb-like environment and is growing stronger.
Chantal held her baby for the first time 42 days after giving birth by emergency ceasarian section.
The Sunday Times met the couple and their miracle baby in hospital.
with the grace of God, He who gives life will protect her. In His name evething is posible. I love n adores her. Miracle, miracle! Mum keep praying n never lose hope He is there 4 u
My prayer is that God will bless her fighting spirit, she is truly a miracle. To the parents, stay strong and trust the Almighty with all your heart, He will come through for all of you. Remained bless, in His mighty name:-). Allegra you are a special little Angel!!!
Its amazing the work these nurses and doctors do. My son was born at 25 weeks, weighing 850g. He’s still in hospital doing well and now he weighs 2.2kg. These small babies are such fighters and they are so hungry to live. There was a baby born in Netcare weighing 480g, the last time I saw her she was a beautiful big baby. They are a true gift from God.
Stay strong and keep faith, and show your little miracle that you love her and believe in her – she can feel it!! Our daughter was born at 24 weeks + 2 days, weighing 664g. She is soon 9 years old, a big and strong girl with lots of fighting spirit. Miracles do happen!! Baby Allegra is in our prayers!
My brother recommended I may like this blog. He used to be totally right. This post actually made my day. You cann’t believe simply how a lot time I had spent for this info! Thanks!
