Members of Cosatu affiliated unions are set to go on a public service strike on August 10. The unions include teacher union, SADTU and police union, Popcru. The unions decided to go on strike after deadlock in wage negotiations with government. They rejected the revised offer tabled in the bargaining council where government offered a 7 percent wage increase and a housing allowance of R630. The unions are demanding an 8.6 percent wage increase and a R1000 housing allowance. Union members are set to march in Cape Town and Tshwane.
When you phone the police they never come, because they useless chimpanzees. So striking will make no difference to the public.
