SAFA President Kirsten Nematandani said that grassroots development is key to achieving his vision of making South Africa the best side in Africa.
This can be only realised when SAFA fincial support LFAS all over South Africa. Currently on these LFAS there is not even proper match balls are provided. The smaller clubs are being run by poor people in the community and it where every player start kicking soccer ball.
So SAFA must financial support grassroots clubs and also make sure that it helps in the local cup competitions. The grassroots clubs are in a situation where they have to travel players to far place for cup that the 1st prizes is just R25000 and find out the clubs have to spend R30 000 or more on preparation and travelling to get that R25 000, alas!
Perhaps, SAFA can start look close on what Masidlale Soccer Academy in Cape Town, under Nyanga LFA is doing and see the real development to produce the best players ever not only on soccer but a genuine and innovative holistic player development.
