Dunham and his dummies in South Africa
Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is touring South Africa, performing to sold out audiences across the country. Dunham included SA in his world tour plans due to his visible popularity with South African YouTube viewers. Cranky Walter, Achmed the terrorist and crazy Peanuts share their feelings about touring here and in their usual manner – do not mince their words.

This guy must make a dummy of malema. It will be a little monkey with a dummy in its mouth and a nappy.
Lolla
Debbie just think what uproaring that will be, funny Put him and Trevor Noah together he is also fun, and trevor already makes fun of malema.

This guy is as good as Shari Lewis of years ago. That is a big compliment from me. Never thought anyone would ever be as good as her. Keep us laughing, Jeff!! Yes, I’m a little older than you. ha

What a crock of ****,touring South Africa it’s a joke why ho why do all the greats miss out on a city called PORT ELIZABETH not everybody has the time or money to fly to one of the other destinations,I would like to know who is responsible for organising his tour so I can give them a piece of my mind, promise to be polite.
PE is the friendly, windy CITY but it seems as if it’s the arse end of SA and not worth visiting, even with all are game parks and entertainment centre’s,very disappointed in him not giving us the time or effort to come here as i am a fan and would have bought enough tickets for all my friends.
All i can say is shame on all the people involved with his tour

I agree that it sucks to live in a small town and not have the artists come to it, but what about the towns that aren’t near a bigger city? They don’t get people to visit there either. I used to live in a little town that you had to travel five hours before you would hit a city that only a few artists would come to. It’s not fair, but they have to go where the money takes them.
Robert
As an artist, I feel I should mention here that it’s not a matter of fairness or of money (We do a LOT of free concerts). It’s about time. There is a lot that goes into putting on a show and there is only so much time to do it. You therefore need to ensure that you have the maximum exposure for the time allotted for your fans. If we had a choice to perform to 100,000 people or 100, given the same amount of time needed to do the show (set up, advertising, marketing, checks, performance, breakdown, etc), which do you think is going to happen? I really DO feel badly for the hundred who miss the shows, but is it fair to the 100 THOUSAND that we put our time into such a smaller venue and then can’t do the larger show? It just doesn’t make much sense to do that, does it?
In today’s culture of easy information, the folks who cannot make it to the shows can STILL enjoy the performances to some degree via CD’s, DVD’s, Internet, etc., so they are not completely locked out. There are fan sites where they can interact with other fans, and sometimes even the artists themselves! There are newsletters in most cases. And if enough fans from neighboring small towns can agree to come together in one spot, you MIGHT be able convince the artists to visit you if you can allow them to do so without all the normal support they typically need (In the case of Crooked Timber, we are VERY likely to do very small shows if we can do them unplugged, or just need to show up with nothing more than our guitars, and all other expenses are paid for).
In short, please don’t condemn the object of your admiration for not coming to your small towns. It’s nothing personal, and they really do appreciate you! There’s just not enough time to do a live performance EVERYWHERE.
