Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has expressed disappointment with the 2009 matric results.  The pass rate has dropped from 2008 by two percent.  It was 62.5 percent while 2009 stands at 60.7 percent.

I find it interesting that the only province to show an increase was the 100% Zulu Boy’s home province.

That’s actually a drop of over 3%. It’s 2% points…. but 2 in 62 is not the same as 2 in 100. 2 in 62 is nearer 3.25 than it is to 2.
