Coal mines threaten Mpumalanga farmers (Part 2)
Commercial farmers in Mpumalanga’s Carolina district are warning the government that South Africa is slowly sliding towards a severe food security crisis if the Department of Mineral Resources continues allocating agricultural land to mining companies.
>> Mining devastating SA’s farms

Our government is obsessed with making a quick buck. Once the water and soil has been completely polluted, the coal miners will have vanished.

This country has so much coal ind so many places – why then mine exactly there where it causes the biggest problems – one always wonders how the decision makers minds work and that not only in regards to coal mining.
I would like to offer solutions to some of the existing problems:
Tthe dumps ( because they will not go away even if they stop mining the coal)
It is possible to re-vegetate them with our technology (Penergetic). That will stop the wind eroding them and transporting the acidic dust to the farms etc. That will also beautify the areas somhow.
Depending on the chemical analysis (which i would need) of these dumps one might after several years or maybe never be able to use them for grazing. But that is also not the most important point as protection from the dust is essential.
The Water
We would need a water analysis of these dams/holes and see if we can stabilize that water and thus make it available for the farmers to use. We have solved worldwide many water pollution problems but I am at this moment not aware of water from coal mines. I therefore investigating with our mother company in Switzerland to find out what possibilities there might be.
As soon as I have some indications I will come back onto this page and report further.
Any other problems with water like e.g. E.coli, iron, lime, feaces, other nutrients etc.wan can solve 100%.
Our technology needs no machinery, no electricity, no magnets, no UV or Reverse Osmosis and when using the AquaKats it is a one time investment lasting for a minimum of 15 years without any maintenance needed either. The AquaKats might run 30 years or more – we do not know – the oldest ones are running for about 22 years.
We work mainly with farmers in the rehabilitation of their soils (humus, fertility and water retention), better root development and more resistant plants, best composting method (6 weeks to finish your compost), animals (100g T per 1t of feed – improves the whole metabolism of the animals and thus performance and production) and all water problems. Our mean are 100% natural – we are registered with the EU, OMRI, IFOAM, EcoCert, SGS etc. etc.
