Political Notebook#10: JZ’s worst appointment

Please be patient while the player loads...

In this week’s episode of the Political Notebook, The Times’ editor Ray Hartley speaks to political analyst and columnist Justice Malala about the appointment of Menzi Simelane as head of NPA, and why there is water on the moon but not in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

Be that as it may, Zuma has appointed his foes in order to serve him. However, not only to serve him it is indeed a payback time for those who have level the playing field for him to ascend to the presidency.I agree with Justo that the track record speaks for itself for Semelani and we will live to regret in future.

In a nutshell all the appointments are not up to sratch so far.Taking into consideration the increase number of ministers during recession is questionable from the Zuma administration.Appointment of Mo Schaik who is also embroiled in contraversy and the sinister was one of Hefer commission testimony ,it is the matter of concerned.Let alone his few months training in Russia for intelligence which is not enough to ascend to the highest position within the intelligence community. The appointment of crazy cowboy Bheki Cele with his awkward version of “sika lekhekhe” whenever afforded the opportunity to party on tax payers money. The list goes on of his dizzy appointments to key positions without applying his mind properly.

The political appointment will kill this country to rotten core. For instance the job hopping from one position to another with huge perks like the Lawrence Mushwana from Public Protector boss to human rights boss. Are we lacking more professionals to take up the jobs?or is just the way of creating wealth for themselves and their families.

I view the appoint with the notion which say if we differ ideological ethnically we will get along.

Zuma is appointing his fellow Nguni people (Zulu’s & Xhosa’s) in justice and security clusters as a reward of some sort. Do it for the interest of the public and not to serve your own interests Mr President…

People must understand that all the people who were seen to be in the Zuma camp were rubbished as bad people in many ways mainly through the media but also political smeer campagns from within the ANC and by the opposition. Ginwala commission was no jugde he never found Simelane guilty of anything, he was not on trial. The problem that we have as a country is that our debates, opinions and our general viewpoint about society and politics is always led by politicians and politicians are always biased. For instance all political parties know that senior positions in government are political appointments, including the NDPP and the Chief Justice for that matter but when they comment they want us to believe that these should not be political appointments. Our media as the potential most powerful instrument for social change is failing us. Until we reach a time when journalists express their objective view of the situation without waiting for the comments from the political parties we will never get an ubiased view from the media. In a country where civil society formations such as labour movement, churches, civic organisations are aligned to political organisations and thus making politics the dominant force in our society we need media that will rise above partisanship. We cannot rely on politicians to build our nation, politics thrives on division.

What makes Justice Malala a political analyst. Malala you are the weakest critic that South Africa has ever seen. Your analysis of politics is very inferiour and you actually believe that you are white when you are not. Is there anything that you have ever agreed with the current regime on. you nauseate me Justice.

As much as I disagree with the appointment of Mr Simelane, but I refuse to be on the side with such a weakling. Leave political analysis to people who know politics. and can also spell spell R properly. My sincere request to you is that you put together a crime fighting stratedy for the Government and place it on this Website for everyone to understand how crime should be dealt with in SA. You cry wolf at the high levels of crime but you dont want anyone to fight it. Your party Cope will never get off the ground, so stop being bitter at the ANC.

sanaga. What a poor argument with no basis or solid grounding. I have absolutely no idea what you wanted to say. What makes Justice a political analyst, is the fact that he can look beyond the horizon and generally sum up the situation with intelligence and due regard and respect to the people of this country. We cannot keep eveyone happy, but surely this does not mean that we walk around with blinkers on. He is allowed by our very Constitution, not to agree with everything this Government does. It is a deviation from one’s own moral compass to agree with something in principal but because it comes from a person or party that you don’t like, you would rather go the other way. This idea nuaseates me. Please play the ball and not the man. This I dare to say, is something the ANC has to learn as well.

People like Zanaga are mamparas that are going to turn this country into a banana republic. When put in power, the government needs to represent the interests of the general public and care about the views held by the latter. The appointment of all these scoundrels is not in the interest of the country but that of the Master Tribalist, JZ. I have never seen in my life a leader who lacks leadership qualities and leads based on sheer populism. JZ is taking this country to the dogs and only insane people like Zanaga will go down with him. This is not the attack on the ANC but a clear reflection on the state of affairs. Justice Malala is a son of the soil and deserves every right to critique government decisions. He is no ANC or Jacob Zuma’s spin doctor. If Goodenough cannot do his job, please dont shoot at Malala when he is doing his. I despise people who just want all of us to be praise singers of the new masters. That we will never do, our task is to defend our democracy at all costs irrespective of who is a man in charge. If he is a Mampara like JZ he is gonna feel the wrath. If you cant stand it, please migrate to Zimbabwe and go join your uncle Bob.

what were you expecting from this zuma administration everything has been for pals from the very onset, we’ve seen an unusual increasing support in his campaign to the presidency and now we observe that he is creating jobs to substantiate that support for his pals. nothing unusual and not expected though,

Let those who want to fool themselves to do just. Justice is one of those. This is a free and democratic country. JZ should only appoint peolple who are willing to work under him, period. We should not be spending time on people like Justice (one of the garden boys/defactors). There is a lot that needs to be done in order to build this country.
