The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa supported by the National House of Traditional Leaders and the National Khoisan Council honoured former president Nelson Mandela for his contribution to nation building. The ceremony was held at Freedom Park in Pretoria.

The gathering at Freedom Park was a wonderful melting pot of colours, cultures and languages. My favourite quote of the day was the performance poet who said: “We carry our names with the beat of our feet.”
