Technology saving elephants
Ivory poaching is a huge concern for the wildlife organisation, Save the Elephants. They’re using tracking devices linked to Google Earth to monitor elephant’s movements in South Africa, Kenya, Congo, Gabon and Mali. Game rangers can use the information to protect elephant herds and when an elephant’s signal stops moving, they can investigate.

Tracker for elephants! I think it’s a great idea but the conservation officials shouldn’t have publicised the move, because poaching syndicates aren’t stupid.

this is a good technology, but what happens to the other threatened species? have they taken any charge?

what are the laws enforced to those that are caught? is the corruption going to release them since they have money and get bribed off? i think that the punishment should be severe in order to install fear, that if caught there is no mercy since this affects Kenyan’s economy. which is attributed to the notion of tourism ;
