This man is so thich-headed! I can believe he just said that, on national tv. The truth is Hermaphrodites/intersexes do exists, it’s not some word that was made up just for the fun of it. It is very uncommon, but there are medical cases that do exist. Julius Malema has once again just shown how ignorant he is.

Caster Semenya is the victim here, not because she is an intersex (which is yet to be proven), but because the ASA failed to protect her by doing all the neccesary tests before allowing her to compete, internationally or locally, these gender testing rules where not just introduced recently, they have been in place for years and the ASA should have done their homework and had these tests done before letting Caster compete internationally, firstly because that is their job and secondly, because they should have been responsible and informed enough to have been foresighted about how the situation could have spiralled out of control if not handled privately and beforehand and if played out in the international media and the repercussions of that for Caster, not only as an athlete (given that this will have an inpact on her career) but also as a human being (the psycological trauma that she would have to endure and not having the right of privacy I imagine she would want and need).

The ASA have only themselves to blame and they have in the process exposed their inefficiencies as an organisation and their lack of management.

Which leads me back to Julius and his tendancy to turn every situation into a race issue. As a black person, I honestly don’t think the decision to have Caster Semenya take a gender test was because she is black or african. I know that we as south africans want to support our fellow citizen, but the decision to have the tests done was based on her physical attributes, that she looked more male than female. Now I know that there are a lot of female athletes who are are a bit masculine but obviously Caster seemed to be more masculine than normal and also her running time had improved dramatically in a short space of time that it caused suspicion.
The IAAF also recieved many complaints and therefore having all this presented before them, they were obliged to investigate. They were doing their job, the same job that was initially supposed to be done by the ASA.

This has nothing to do with race. Playing the race card is only a distraction from the issue at hand, from the reality that there is no functional structure within the ASA, there’s no regulation of any sort, there is mismanagement and irresponsibilty, and no accountability at all. Sadly the ASA is only a symptom of the problem in Leadership in Government is South Africa.

We all know how unregulated the state of affairs are in South Africa, we live with this incompetence everyday (poor service delivery, poor police service, ect) and now the whole world knows too!

Julius Malema had a classic case of verbal diarrhea and it wouldn’t be such a big deal if he actually made sense, instead, everytime he opens his mouth, I have to brace myself for the worst, and I must say he never disappoints, well…at least he’s consistant!

Nelson Mandela spent nearly half his life in prison, fighting for human rights and freedom for all South Africans (that includes white people). And now you come along and try to re-establish apartheid in reverse. You put yourself and everything the ANC used to stand for, to shame.

Black people are not the only true Africans. Afrikaners have been here for hundreds of years. We fought long and hard against the British for our right to be free. They also cruelly oppressed and beat us to death, but do you see us harbouring grudges against them? No. In fact, two of my best friends happen to be English.
Coloureds have also been a dominant part of our country’s huge diversity, and it feels to me that sometimes they are being completely left out and forgotten by the government.
I often get the feeling that black people are more racist than most white people (except the AWB, they’re a bunch of weirdos).

Julius Malema is to be pitied. He has a giant chip on his shoulder because he has no education or breeding. That does not make him a bad person.. Unfortunately a symptom of the lowest of intelligence is a tendency to think you are clever. As soon as your IQ rise above 80, you start realising that you are really not very clever, and that you should rather keep quiet. I, as a black woman with an IQ of 145, am really very sorry for him. I think we should do all in our power to get him to go back to school. Even some home study courses where he can study in private, will be of a great help. Please dont worry , my fellow Africans, Black and White, the majority of black people has intelligence far greater than Malema. I doubt very much that our people will even contemplate having him as president unless he improves his schooling. Lets all encourage him to further his education, work on his manners, and take some lessons in public speaking. I think we will have a fine young man in Grade I.
