Search and rescue dogs trained by Johannesburg’s Emergency Management Services dog unit were recognised at a special awards ceremony. Hope, Radar and Zeus have completed an intense Disaster Search Dog course which means they’re ready to help find people trapped in buildings under rubble or hikers who’ve been injured in the mountains. They’re also using the dogs as a counselling device to help comfort children who have been exposed to trauma.

Well done Joburg.
Its great to see how the emergency services are prepared to go the extra mile and commit to creating support structures and units that help the community in their time of need. Well done to all at the Dog Unit.
