The Young, Gifted and Black movement gains momentum
The Young Gifted and Black music video features some of Africa’s most talented stars including Lira, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Ikechukwu and Da L.E.S. But it’s more than just a music video though. It’s what advertising agency Ogivly calls, a movement, which begun on DSTV’s Channel O. In celebration of Africa Day, Jason Von Berg chats to the brains behind the campaign to find out more about the movement.

Do not worry brothers and sisters I am young Gifted and White so I honestly do not see why there has to be a movement focused on color in this day & age.
Why did you not rather call your Movement Young and Gifted as opposed to Young Gifted and Black? Is it perhaps because you heard that song on Channel O that you simply just had to copy the songs name from Loyiso for your movement?
Anyhows people want to know why there is still racism in SA, it because you get movements like this who cater for a specify ethnic group when in reality that’s BULL ****, IMO.

Young gifted and coloured
eagerly awaiting “young gifted” + coloured, white, asian, latino… any idea when these will be out?
Rob
Well said Squire. Can you imagine some Afrikaans singer singing ” White, Gifted and Smart”…oh the outrage.
I suggest Channel O pull the pathetic campaign.
Clearly someone not so gifted and black came up with it.
