“My child died for nothing!” That’s what the distraught mother of little Gwadiso said after her son was killed. The three-year-old died when he was hit by a stray bullet while playing in his crèche in Westdene, Johannesburg. Vumani Mkhize spoke to Richard Belang about the tragic death of his son.

I am Junior’s aunt and i still can’t believe that my nephew is not with us anymore. My kids are still saddened by the news of Junoir’s senseless killing, they miss him everyday.Junior’s mom- who is my sister is taking this especially hard,it will take a miracle for her to fully recover from this terrible ordeal.She is just praying for justice to prevail and that no parent must go through what she is going through.
