Local pilots, James Pitman and Mike Blyth, departed from the Springs airfield on a daring expedition to circumnavigate the globe in their home-made prototype aircraft known as the ‘Sling’. The two aviation experts built the light sport aircraft themselves and intend to fly around the world in July/August this year, visiting the Oshkosh air show in Wisconsin, US, along the way.
