Photographer Esa Alexander and reporter Biénne Huisman encountered tattoo mania at Southern Ink Xposure in the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The expo was promoted as the largest tattoo convention ever to be staged on African soil.

I think that this was awesome but was not able to get down to Cape Town and I believe it was by invitation only. I am not in the trade but have tattoos, and would enjoy a convention/expo of this kind as would thousands of others who could not make it down south. How about Johannesburg next time.
Great to have got a glimpse of the web video. Fortunately my artist was able to attend and we will catch up on all the details and see his pics this week.
Last but least great to see that like mind people in SA are bring and exposing this all too often misunderstood art form too the forefront.
