Violence in North east Congo
Please be patient while the player loads...
People living in North East Congo have been caught up in violence linked to attacks by the Ugandan rebel group Lord’s Resistance Army, and the Ugandan and Congolese offensive against the Lord’s Resistance Army. Children are forced to kill their own families. Murders and kidnappings are a daily reality. More than 170 000 civilians have been displaced since violence broke out in the region in early 2008. Doctors Without Boarders (Medicines sans Frontieres) are the only humanitarian organisation providing assistance in the area. They are concerned for the locals as violence spreads to Southern Sudan.
