Springbok captain John Smit thanked coach Peter De Villiers for what he called the best years in his rugby career. Speaking after his return to the country following the Springbok’s exit from the 2011 Rugby World Cup, Smit said: “We did set some goals which we did not achieve and we’ve had to put on some brave faces – it’s been an emotional two days.”
