Consumers slam Eskom price hike
Nersa has approved a 24,8% electricity price hike. This increase will be effective from 1 April 2010. Times LIVE asked members of the public what they thought about the increase and how it will affect them.

II think the increase is going to affect us a lort. We are going to pay more money in electricity of which life is going to be difficult for the majority of this country. Eskom and the Government need to be blamed for poor mismanagement. Now we are paying R1 000 for electricity in Soweto, Chiawelo, so now we are going to pay maybe R1 000 to up wards. We will pay more due to Eskom’s failure in electricity; Life is not far in this country. I think now it is the time to take army and go to the streets fight for this Eskom’s electricity price hike.
