King Goodwill Zwelithini’s decision to re-introduce male-circumcision as a cultural practice to combat HIV, has been welcomed by the Department of Health and the South African National Aids Council. Studies have shown that medical male-circumcision reduces the risk of contracting HIV by up to 60% in heterosexual men.
