Union objects to Eskom boss’ raise
The National Union of Mineworkers has criticised Eskom for raising its CEO salary by 26.7% to R4.96 million a year. Union spokesman, Lesiba Seshoka said he objected to Jacob Maroga’s wage increase which did not make sense as the company was reporting a financial loss and raising electricity tariffs.

This is just another case of cooperate South Africa being oblivious to the challenges of this country. Eskom is not the only organisation to award management that is failing the people. As my peers would say “TIA” (This is Africa). There is nothing a man on the street can do but pay whatever Eskom charges to feed the fat cats.
Contesting this increase is a futile exercise as the elite members of our society continue to rape this country. Excessive increases have been awarded to Eskom executives before and so will this increase be awarded to Lesiba in spite of the outcry from the Union.
