De Villiers vs British media
Springbok rugby coach Peter De Villiers came out guns blazing when discussing the matter of two of his players (Schalk Burger and Bakkies Botha) being cited by the International Rugby Board. De Villiers faced tough questions from British journalists about the culture of foul play in the game.
THINKTWICE
Peter de Villiers needs to shut up. His arrogance and lack of emotional maturity has cast an embarrassing shadow over the tour.

De Villiers is going to destroy all the work that has been done to build the Springbok team in the last six years. SA Ruby should put him out of his misery and fire him. The man has absolutely no strategy, no game plan. He just picks his squad and hopes that they know what to do. Fortunately for him, the players know better than him. The man’s useless. He adds no value to the Springbok framework. I say he must go before he makes more mess. We cant go to the next World Cup with this man. He’s just going to embarras us all. I’m afraid of what he’s going to do in the upcoming Tri Nations. Only God knows why he didn’t pick Morne Steyn in the starting XV.

He’s a national embarrassment. Every time he opens his uneducated trap, the whole nation cringes.

Eye gouging is one of the most deplorable acts that any player can make. As an ex-rugby player I understand that, in the heat of battle, players do things that they subsequently regret. I am sure Mr Berger regrets what has happened, not least because he will miss the final international and a good part of the tri nations.
For a coach to defend his player is often necessary, but in this case Mr De Villiers is shaming South African rugby. The correct response should have been an apology and then to move on. I fear that a great test match will be remembered for his defending the undefendable.

Div might not have the gift of the gab but if you examine what he says, it makes perfect sense. Lay off from the coach who achieved what others before him only dreamed of. The Brit media historically can’t take a lose gracefully and is grasping at perceived weak points of the Bok game.
At least spell our names correctly.
Viva Amabokke!

As Div say’s, if you can’t take the heat, get out the kitchen: all you poms making all your sanctimonious little comments here, acting all squeaky clean, etc.as if the Lions are the most gentlemanly act in town: remember JPR Williams et al in the ’70’s? And as Div says, the footage is inconclusive – in a rucking situation hands and faces and other body parts will come into contact with each other – that is the nature of the game. Burger is rough, but not dirty – Presiding Officer from Kiwi has just saved the All Blacks from enormous problems in the Tri Nations by banning Burger for 8 weeks: that’s where most of the dirtiest play happens, behind the scenes among the administrators. Here’s to 3 nil clean sweep!!!

I totaly agree with Div ’s dealing of this situation, altough it does sound realy comical when he speaks, he does make sense with what he says. Not the greatest coach, but so far he’s done almost everything right, and what coach wouldnt defend his players, specialy against arogant pom reporters.
“IT SEEMS LIKE SOME OF US HAVE A HEARING PROBLEM” HAHAHA. And to the doom sayers, we have reason to be windgat right now with the depth in South African rugby.
GO Boks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a Canadian Bok Supporter, unfortunately, PdV needs to think before consuming precious oxygen when he spouts
