Zuma Shower Gel
A controversial new product and viral ad campaign from satire company Laugh It Off has gotten under the skin of the ANC. The party is now seeking legal counsel on Zuma Shower Gel. Dieketseng Maleke from the Times Online spoke to Laugh It Off mastermind Justin Nurse.
Cedric Buffler
This is hilarious – and this sort of thing will keep happening until the man develops a genuine sense of humour and learns to laugh at himself.
It’s quite possible that he’ll make an excellent president and that much more will be delivered for the poor, but he MUST learn not to take himself so seriously.
Satafrika
Rubbish, I think he lost customers already. If he thinks this should be funny, he really has a weird sense of humour. I think everybody deserves dignity and this is not one of those. What is the court of law for then if its decision will not be respected? Ooops, I do not like Zuma but this is annoying.
Lindelani
how can a bottle of gel strip someone of their dignity if you believe that you really have to be stupid or have a low sense of self worth too bad Africans dont suffer from either. the poor boy needs to stock up on more products because jacob zuma the a.n.c and affirmative action is’nt going anywhere.. . this just reflects how mentally unadjusted some whites south africans have become… keep on entertaing us.
Zodwa Mbuli
More of those undermining tactics to our president
Nelly
I think its great to pass a message like that to Zuma, so that he knows that we dont agree with his statement of taking a shower after having unprotected ***. What type of a president is South Africa having?? This is such a joke…..
mameim
Brilliant. Where can one buy it?
Taura
This shows that the level of idiocy in some of the white people is really on a high rise. Thanks to their leaders, the DA and this FFP. What is this DA and FFP, some generic apartheid presciption in a differrent bottle? Put that stupid idea on the market and you and your desendants will regret for the rest of your sorry lives! I am sure you have better things to do. Brighten up your conner, do not be an opportunist like your leaders (da and ffp)
zaza
I think we are able to make a distinction when a person jokes or just being rude. On this matter these people are being rude and they continue to discredit our leaders and they think its fun. There should be limits, Zuma is the president of this country and he needs to be respected.
thato
Apparently the shower gel is available at at Big Blue in Montecasino
ThinkTwice
Zuma would be crazy to sue Justin Nurse because this will simply result in his infamous shower comments appearing in the media yet again.
reason
I wonder if Zuma had to get 50% of all the money generated through the sale of this showergel would those with a “sense of humor” still be willing to put their money where their laughing mouth is?…I didn`t think so.Justin Nurse is an opportunist who is hellbent on exploiting the hatred most white people have again president-elect Zuma.
I really feel the need to voice my disappointed with Laugh it out for their distasteful sense of humor which seek to distract leaders and organisations from performing their pressing duties with minial opportunism disguised as cheap comedy.
I would imagine that Zuma rape case must have been a most embarassing, depressing and near career-smashing to be revisited by the likes of Justin Nurse in a most opportunist fashion quite so often.
Lindie
I think Zuma must be very happy that they have named this shower gel after him. It shows how valuable he is. Look at the streets names eg nelson Mandela. some of us name our children after our parents or grand parents, to show we love them. Same is happening here. You have been honoured Zuma
THABISA
guys this shows how much we disrespect our president & this is not funny. zuma will lead with or without the gel
ThinkTWICE
Lindie writes “You have been honoured Zuma.” Honoured? For having unprotected *** with an HIV-positive family friend?
concerned
yayayayaya. ppl it’s laugh it off.
yes JZ will win the court case just like all the other court cases cause he is JZ, but think about it, they r making him more popular, if ppl did not like him they would not buy the product they would not want to be associate themselves with him, BUT they r dump enough to buy the damn product. what JZ could do is cash in, just like Malema. And no ppl let us stop pulling the race card everytime some whitey boy publishers something about darkies, it is so amazing when Mamgobozi publishes something about ‘our’ leaders no one comments but let a whitey do . oh hell will break loose.
zaza
THINKTWICE
You cant move forward ne? Yes he had unprotected *** and apologised what more. You dont have to remind us. We have moved on Thinktwice and I suggest you do the same cos you are just not making any sense now.
joe
All the people who get so offended by satire need to realise that this is part and parcel of democracy and freedom of speech. Satire is as old, if not older than democracy itself. Why do you all take this so personally? Why is it a sign the whites are “unadjusted”. Whites have every right to speak and make their opinions known. In terms of LIDELANI’s comments on affirmative action: If you choose to enforce affirmative action, what exactly to you suppose the whites who lose out to the AA candidates are supposed to do? Commit suicide? If they leave the country, you see that as a sign of racism… if they start their own companies, and start employing black people, before you know it, they have to sell 50% of their company to grow… please explain what a white male should do if the jobs are going to AA candidates? They are not going to disappear.
joe
Stop this ridiculous personality worship. Yes, Zuma is the president, elected democratically. But he is still a human being. Why do we turn him into a god? He isn’t a god. Hes just a person. Someone with a lot of power, but still open to criticism. The moment he is no longer open to criticism, is the day this democracy becomes a fascist state. Why do you not see this? The president is incredibly powerful and can affect the lives of millions if he gets something wrong… there is damn good reason to be critical… if the person who is our president has obvious character flaws, these will show over time… but by then it will be too late. Zuma is not a soccer team that you support through thick and thin.. he is our president,, who SHOULD fall out of favour when he screws up… but apparently some people here would just keep supporting him, even while he steals the shirt off their backs.
BANTUbakithi
LOL…I don’t know why some people feel the need to defend politicians…THEY ARE THERE TO BE MADE FUN OF…RELAX, DON’T GET EMOTIONAL PHELA!….we all know he’s our president…LOL…

Oh how I love South Africa and her people especially some White South Africans. Next elections I vote for the DA then it can show these blacks how to govern a contry e.g correcting the damages done by apartheid. Ha!
concerned
ahh no I give up.
Joe said it JZ is a public figure, “our president” therefore we are allowed to criticize him if he is wrong, so what because he is the president he can not be told when he has done wrong. If you read his biography he even said so himself that he knows he has done mistakes, and will rectify them and learn from them. he is not holier than us, he is no saint. power to the people, the people shall govern, hence democracy.
mpho
Guys their are so many ways of making money .just like what this guy did. But am sure this guy would 1 day be in hot water. You can’t play with important people just like that .Remember the nando`s advert? It was striped off because they knew they were in big trouble
Imagine if this guy was doing this in zimbambwe how would it be

If the DA was a white party, it wouldn’t have won the Western Cape. Thats in the numbers. So I would have to say that its no longer a ‘white’ party. And theres nothing you can do to deny that.
Pallo
Hey Justin. Brilliant my man. Keep it up!
Leon
Very funny indeed. Now you should work on:
“MALEMA – anti-fungal foot-in-mouth scrub”
lol ;-)
mamso
I love this creativity, it is spot on. Let just laugh it off, life is too short to stress, even Msholozi enjoyed that shower after distressing with Mshana who is in exile, poor soul.
mamso
Where can I find this shower gel, I would really love to buy it and would preserve the bottle for my grand children and show them that we once had a President who was comical.
Phura
This one of the reasons I will never leave SA,,, Mamso if u happen to get ur hands on the gel tell me I would love to have it and keep it for my grandkids.
sesenyane

Now that the ’struggle’ has resulted in a South African president who cries for his machine gun while fornicating his way through his herd of wives, all the while claiming moral standards, all that is left to do is indeed laugh it off. Let’s watch our health and stress levels and finally acknowedge what we have become: a satire nation, a comic-book scenario filled with characters who take themselves way too seriously. I applaud ‘Laugh IT Off” s originality and example. Laugh, ek se ! !
Tebogo
SA is funny. A president with a shower in the office to use after finishing game. How did we reward such people with powerful position in the land.
makgati

Merlyn
Sometimes i really don’t understand people of South Africa, especially black people, you’ve worked so hard to be where you are right now by being oppressed by the people who dislike you and hate to see you being succesful, today here you are supporting someone who only think about himself and not care about what he is doing to this country.
Zuma is our President why can’t you respect that and honour him as your President. If you have listened to the speech done at the Inaugoration i believe there were going to be less comment of what i am hearing right now. Be proudly South African no matter what. critisims is not going to take you anywere. This is no place for complacency, no place for cynicism, no place for excuses.
CHANGE and stop critising your President or if you can’t accept it why can’t you go and live somewhere outside South Africa, because here we need people who are positive thinkers and who will make this world a better place, not by destroying other people
partson
Zuma! I think you need to get some advise from your brotherman Robert on how to deal with such idiots, racist uncultured stupid colonist like this one. In Mugabeland this kind of thing will never happen.
MMouse
Leslie – what a good idea. I am sure that Helen Zille would enjoy Justin’s satirical comments. Maybe something along the line of botox not inflating her ego.
