O’Sullivan blasts Selebi

Please be patient while the player loads...

Former Airports Company of SA security boss Paul O’Sullivan says South Africa deserves a chief of police who is above suspicion. O’Sullivan – long known as the nemesis of National Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi – says Selebi’s dismissal would be a step in the right direction.

It is totally frustrating and unacceptable that you read of people who ridicule while some even go to the extent of murdering whistle blowers in this young democracy like ours. South Africa as a democracy needs people of O’Sullivan’s calibre who have the courage and the moral ethics to ensure transparency in public office and the accountability thereof from relevent office bearers. If it wasn’t of O’Sullivan’s whistle blowing, South Africans would still be in dark about the deals illegally sealed between shady business people and prominent government officials. Selebi publicly declared these dodgy characters as “friends, finish and klaar”. That on its owns proves irresponsible for a country’s police head let alone being the President of Interpol. Paul O’Sullivan displayed courage many South Africans wouldn’t have, let the the state and the defendant battle it out in the courts as Mr Selebi is not yet proven guilty and no media or individual has the right to pre-judge the Commissioner-on-Special Leave. As for O’Sullivan, South Africa needs men of your courage and the state should at all times protect whistle blowers and the rule of law as none is above the law.

I’ve known this guy for years
The negative comments above, are from Selebi’s people, or someone connected with them

O’Sullivan has taken knocks that we should be grateful for, as he took them for us

All it takes for eveil men to succeed is for the rest of us to do nothing

Thanks Paul O’Sullivan
You are a hero

Fact is that this guy has taken on the biggest gangsters this country has ever seen and won!
He exposed the rot that is ruining the country and putting us all to shame and it had to be done, you can’t sweep it under the carpet and pretend it isnt there
I think he’s either very brave, very dumb, or has special skills at preservation, cus sooner or later, they’re gonna get him
Either way, we need people like him and must support him to finish what he’s started
God Bless you Mr Sullivan

As I have it, he’s been at it for several years. That takes tenacity and a belief in what you’re doing. When you have a bent chief of police, you’re on a slippery slope to hell. This guy should be put up for a medal, or maybe we should ask him to take Selebi’s place and clean up the SAPS, as its in a real mess, since Selebi got his dirty hands on it

One can not deny the fact that O’Sullivan did a plausible thing – depending on the motive behind it.

But i can not stop wondering why did he only mention that “AFTER HE LOST THE SAA SECURITY TENDER”

It’s servers as a lesson to all of us. understand i am not saying criminals must be protected.

Mr. Selebi, like all other South African citizens he deserves to be treated with respect.

This has been an occurrence in South Africa for a while.

Those who have been in power and enjoying opportunities that yesteryear politics and government created can not afford to loose them, this is even if they have to drag someone in the mud.

Let the truth be said and BOLDLY SAID, most events are race based.

It is important that we realize that we also need to protect ones of our own, .Period.

Papa Jack, just be tough through it – but if you are actually guilty, then you got yourself into it and we will not cry for you. but laugh into it while rolling dice at the street corner.

The only thing we can safely do is to escort you to your prison cell, but whether you are locked for 27 or more years – rest assured that you will not be a hero like Madiba was and still is.

Hey, we can also do to you like we did to our dear President. that the evidence were unlawful——and drag the case for more years.

We killed the scorpion, fear not the sting

Gilbo & Tony de Beer, I have done my checks and can now confirm that you are not who you say you are.

Your real name is Selby Bokaba, you are a failed ex-apartheid bantustan journalist, now employed as part of Selebi’s spin machine, you are a liar and have been lying to protect Selebi, at least I put my name on my comments, why don’t you have the ability to do the same.

After I have sent Selebi to prison, I will spend ‘as long as it takes’ in seeing that you are unemployed!
